Gilmar/Iceberg

GILMAR was established in 1962 as a knitwear company, the result of the enthusiasm of Giuliana Marchini (the company's creative mind) and of the managerial skills of her husband, Silvano Gerani. Giuliana Marchini launched the ICEBERG project, the first range ever to propose the idea of fashionable sportswear. Knitwear reveals its many facets, it can even become a coat, with unusual colours, new manufacturing techniques, new materials and Andy Warhol's Pop Art on knitted garments. Communication too turns over a new leaf - Oliviero Toscani's ICEBERG campaigns "The Contemporaries" are the first in the fashion world to make use of testimonials. In 1981, GILMAR became a joint-stock company.
Ettore Sottsass and Oliviero Toscani are the models for ICEBERG's Autumn/Winter 1982-83 campaign called "The Contemporaries". Andy Warhol, the symbol of Pop Art par excellence, is the testimonial of ICEBERG's Spring/Summer 1983 campaign. During that same year Patrizia Gerani, the elder daughter of Giuliana Marchini and Silvano Gerani, joined the company. The GERANI line was conceived in 1985 and marked a return to British traditions and elegance. Total refinement and high quality fabrics. And then came a new episode of Oliviero Toscani's ICEBERG campaign "The Contemporaries". The testimonials in Spring/Summer 1985 were Franco Moschino and Mimmo Paladino. The designer Jean-Charles Castelbajac modelled for ICEBERG's Autumn/Winter 1985-86 campaign. In 1987 GILMAR strengthened its brand distribution in Japan by signing an important business agreement with the Japanese multinational Toyota. In 1989 GILMAR opened its first ICEBERG boutique in Milan, in via Montenapoleone, 10.
A few years later ICEBERG and GILMAR opened new showrooms in New York, Milan, Paris, Amsterdam and Moscow. ICEBERG officially sponsored the concert in favour of the "Rainforest Foundation".

In 1998 GILMAR announced its launch on the Chinese market during a press conference with the Chinese deputy Prime Minister of Science and Technology.
Pamela Anderson and Paris Hilton were the great protagonists of the first of a series of highly successful ICEBERG advertising campaigns. The campaign earned the cover of Panorama, an Italian weekly magazine. The English magazine MAXIM assigned ICEBERG the Style Awards 2002 - the label qualifies in the International Designer category.

Ferretti

In 1975 the cornerstone of what is now called the Aeffe Fashion Group was laid thanks to fashion designer Alberta Ferretti. In 1980 Aeffe was founded in San Giovanni in Marignano (Rimini). Alberta Ferretti began her alliance with Franco Moschino and then decided to manufacture and distribute his designs under exclusive licence. In 1994 a partnership agreement was signed with Jean Paul Gaultier for the production and distribution of the French designer's ready-to-wear collections. During the same year, Palazzo Donizzetti was opened. The whole building is dedicated to the Alberta Ferretti and Jean Paul Gaultier collections and is home to their press office. In 1996 Aeffe USA was founded and a showroom building was opened in New York. In 1997 an agreement was signed with Narciso Rodriguez. In 2001 a majority stake was bought in Pollini to strengthen the company footwear, leather goods and accessories sector and the Velmar company was established to manufacture and distribute lingerie and swimwear. In 1999 the Aeffe group was created. This consists of eight different brand labels: ALBERTA FERRETTI, MOSCHINO, POLLINI, VELMAR, PHILOSOPHY BY ALBERTA FERRETTI, MOSCHINO CHIP AND CHIC, JEAN PAUL GAULTIER and NARCISO RODRIGUEZ. Alberta Ferretti's customers are not only Italian artists and celebrities, but also people from all over the world.
